Hurricane Season Advisory Notice
Hurricane season is from June 1st to November 30th, and extreme weather, including hurricanes, is possible. RMHCSLA is committed to the safety of our guest families, volunteers, and staff during any weather emergencies. Please be aware of our Hurricane Policy:
· Families should arrange alternative accommodations before coming to the House because if a hurricane watch or warning is issued, everyone will need to evacuate since RMHCSLA does not have a generator.
· Staff will check in with families, but we recommend proactively seeking updates.
· In case of evacuation, families must take all valuables and return RMHCSLA key cards.
· During power outages, emergency lights may last up to four hours, and flashlights are available at the front desk. During the summer, if the power goes out, an evacuation to the hospital may be needed.
